Maybe things were safer back then.

This is Mandy's response to my recollection that I used to walk from Claremont to Smuts late at night. Oh for those innocent carefree days of 2001!

well, your perception was indeed the face that it was safe then, as your comment was you can't believe that you used to walk to Claremont in the middle of the night cause it was so dangerous. Clearly had you truly believed it was so dangerous you wouldn't have done it. And doesn'tt all the research show that fear of the rising crime rate crime is based on personal perception, and not reality, and however stupid you may perceive that to be isn't that more impotant... and by the way I somehow think we are quitre likely to survive an on-foot trip to Claremont in the middle of the night now. So perhaps my idiot comment was just a response to an idiot statement.
